It’s Black, It’s White
The idea of an all black & white aesthetic with some pops of color has really grown on me for several reasons:
1) It always looks polished and pulled together.
2) It’s fool-proof (admit it…)
3) It’s not your grandma’s living room.
For the Duke & Duchess. Big ticket items: black stained wood floors / thick white drapes pinned back to let in more light.
Urban & edgy. Big ticket items: white subway tile walls / B&W graphics on untraditional surfaces (see skateboards).
Clean & classic. Big ticket items: black beams / silver lamps and accessories to reflect light.
Relaxed & snug. Big ticket items: B&W striped carpet with matching striped pillows / brown wood circular table for good measure.
It’s amazing to see so much personality come out in these four different style living rooms with the exact same color scheme. This is a great way for those of you who tend to stray far and wide (distracted by pretty colors) to hone in your signature style. - Mary
